Dear opinionated fans,


The following should NOT be read by the more vicious Danny/Sam worshippers.
You poor delusional people, please beware and don't hurt me too badly.

These are the nicest words I could put it in without betraying my honest
thoughts. I'm sorry, but I'm VERY sick of people who think Sam is Danny's
perfect little angel. Very sorry to burst your bubble, but she's not the
lovely little lady you see her to be.

I have seen many people complaining that Sam was selfish, in the way she
made the logo for Danny and made the wish for Danny and Tucker to remember
everything and all that, in 'Memory Blank'. Newsflash- Sam hasn't changed a
bit.

She's _always_ been like that. Since day one.

I never complain because I trust the creators in maintaining the character
of the...well, characters, better than ANY fanfic writer, considering the
characters are in THEIR hands, not yours; but if I were one of those
critics, I'd say they got Sam's character down perfect. Why?

Ask Danny. He clarified it pretty well himself.
"Let's change the menu to Ultra-Recyclo Vegetarian! Let's free the gorilla!
Have your dad sell his things in a garage sale!" (not exact quote, but this
is the gist of it)

Considering our so-called individual tried to force her beliefs on others
and try to make them think the way she does (thus defeating the purpose of
individuality -- see 'Mystery Meat'), and putting Danny in danger pretty
often, she isn't exactly Danny's little guardian angel here. To be honest
with ya, she's a tarty poser whorebag who takes any opportunity she can to
make herself look good, especially in Danny's eyes. (*hides behind 1st
Amendment*)

Feel free to try to counter-attack with some "but she encouraged him to go
into the ghost portal! SHE MAAADE HIM WHO HE IS!!" speech. Oh no,
girlfriend. Sam did not bring Danny his fate as you may so dramatically put
it. Curiousity-- a friend encouraging a friend to see something cool. It
happened, Danny got ghost powers, end of story. It's not like it meant
they're automatically meant to be together.

(PS: Don't even TRY with the "Danny fake-out-made-out with her!". What would
YOU do to distract your father from seeing something he really, really
shouldn't?)


Counter-attack 2: "Can't you feel the lurrrve?!"
From what we've seen, all the 'lurve' we've felt are from Sam- ladies, a
girl can tell: Sam's the one with the crush. Danny seems oblivious
(especially considering he's lovin' Paulina-- who, although she may be a
shallow, preppy little tart, she's at least aware of it and proud of it--
Sam is putting on a front just to make herself look cool and different)--
but I wouldn't blame him if he's starting to suspect something!

Selfish, jealous little thing, too, doing everything to keep Danny from
Paulina (aka his happiness with a girl..er, who might ditch him anyway, but
still).

I'd like to emphasize I'm not speaking from a Danny fangirl point of view.
Dear reader, if you accuse me as such, congratulations on being a big fat
butt of a hypocrite. I hold no responsibility for the fact that because you
are a hopeless romantic who is ultimately obsessed with one half of the
"couple" (girls: Danny, and in a rare case of boys: Sam), and because you:
a): are too untalented/lazy to come up with your own stories with Danny or
Sam, or
b): (girls) refuse to accept your infatuation with Danny as normal, thus you
live out their crushy feelings and dreams through Sam and the tiniest little
instances you believe comparable to your favorite anime/soap-opera
super-couple. (believe me, a toon crush is NOT sick or wrong at all.)

You crack me up. Really. Closed-minded pathetic little sad excuses for
fangirls. You want romance and couple-y stuff? Either accept and embrace
your potential crush on Danny Phantom, or find yourself a boyfriend to act
out your dreams with instead of making up sickening fantasies and fanart for
a couple that isn't even really a couple.

No. They aren't. FACE IT.

It also really gives me a laugh when those Danny/Sam worshippers quite
cruelly condescend on Danny-lovers as weird, jealous, pathetic, or sometimes
even psychotic. Do excuse our childish infatuation, for at least we FEEL the
love for the character and accept it, and not make it up wih someone else
from a Fake-Out-Make-Out or two-- just so you can admit you aren't in love
with a cartoon character.

So you can shove that up somewhere more visibly pleasant than your mushy
Danny/Sam fanart, too.

I do not wish to change your opinion, believe in this 'couple' all you wish.
Please bear in mind that the majority of us Anti-D/S fangirls are also
surprisingly peace-loving and do not -- like your Goth-posey princess --
force the way we think upon you.

(Though, like in this rant, we will openly vent our thoughts with no
problems.)

Take into consideration, also, from a realistic point of view, that Butch
Hartman is a creative genius and most likely has you well fooled from the
way he appeals to both sorts of fans: hopeless, delusional teenage romantic
fans like you, and to fans who simply adore the show, premise, and
characters (ALL characters) as one; thus he makes things happen in the show
that will satisfy both crowds.

I for one trust Mr. Hartman- this man has been in the animation business for
over 20 years, thus I think his unique creativity, intelligence and respect
for his fans are far beyond the vomit-inducing cliche of "When Harry Met
Sally". (male and female best friends becoming lovers- it's not as realistic
as you may be dreaming of, little girls and boys.)
